Data Protection specialist ensures that an organisation processes the personal data of its staff, customers, providers or other individuals in compliance with the applicable data protection rules.
Their mission is to help their organisation to demonstrate compliance with GDPR legislation and inform on companies’ data protection obligations.
What does a Data Protection Specialist do?
- informing and advising the organisation and its employees about their obligations to comply with the GDPR and other data protection laws
- assisting in the development of the organisation’s data protection and privacy policies and other statements
- monitoring compliance with the GDPR and other data protection laws, and with the organisation’s own data protection policies (conducting internal audits)
- raising awareness of data protection issues
